About this numeric keypad test
This ten key exercise uses only digits, decimal points, and line breaks. Each line is a separate number. Type Enter after a completed line, including the last one, to move to the next entry. The sequence extends during timed tests.
The browser measures the characters you enter; it cannot verify whether you used a keypad or the top number row.

Tips for a more useful result
- Use Num Lock if your keypad needs it.
- Rest index, middle, and ring fingers on 4, 5, and 6.
- Use the bump on 5 to return to position without looking.
- Copy the decimal point and trailing zeros exactly.
Find your keypad position
On a typical full-size keyboard, the right-side keypad has digits 0–9, a decimal point, Enter, and arithmetic keys. This exercise needs only digits, the decimal point, and Enter. The index finger covers 1, 4, and 7; the middle covers 2, 5, and 8; the ring covers 3, 6, and 9. Use the thumb for 0 and a comfortable little-finger reach for Enter.
What gets counted
Each entered digit, decimal point, and newline is one character. Enter counts here because a newline is part of the source. Backspace removes text but does not erase an earlier mistake from keystroke accuracy. Tab moves focus and does not count. KPH is final correct characters divided by elapsed minutes, multiplied by 60.
A practical accuracy check
For 0042, preserve both leading zeros. For 18.05, keep the decimal in position. Entering 18.50 changes the value even though it uses the same digits. If number errors appear repeatedly, slow down and read each entry once before keying it.
What is a good ten key speed?
There is no universal passing score on this site. Compare the same keypad exercise and duration, then check any job requirement against the employer’s instructions. A conversion from prose WPM does not demonstrate keypad skill. The KPH guide and converter explains the units.
