About this data entry typing test
This page offers two different tasks. The structured exercise above checks each field and complete record without a countdown. The timed transcription tool copies fictional rows into one text area, including the displayed separators.
The two formats have separate progress comparisons. Both use fictional data and give free feedback.

How your typing result is measured
Your free result includes net WPM, raw WPM, accuracy, total mistakes, uncorrected errors, correct characters, and elapsed time. Number tests also show KPH, while data-entry tests show correctly completed records.

Tips for a more useful result
- Read the field label and its source before entering the value.
- Use Tab between fields in the structured exercise.
- Check 0 versus O and 1 versus I in reference codes.
- Review the marked fields before starting another attempt.
Try a complete record workflow
In the untimed form, copy reference, name, amount, and date for all three records. Press Check all records to see exact field matches and complete records. A field can contain mostly correct characters while still failing an exact match. The feedback shows both the source and the value to review.
How form results differ from timed rows
In forms, Tab is navigation and contributes no character to KPH. Time includes moving between fields. In timed rows, separators and newlines are part of the text and are scored. These results should not be combined into one speed trend. My Progress keeps the exercise identifier with each summary.
Prepare for the task described in your invitation
An assessment may use a different number of fields, time limit, or scoring rule. SHL’s data-entry fact sheet, for example, describes transcription from prefilled forms and data verification. These are distinct activities; TypingNova’s exercise measures copying, not every kind of data checking.
Decide what to practise next
