What TypingNova is
TypingNova (also written as Typing Nova) is a free online typing test that runs entirely in your browser. It measures speed in words per minute, accuracy, mistakes, correct characters, and — for numeric work — keystrokes per hour. Tests run from one to ten minutes, or untimed.
There are four kinds of practice, because the skills are not the same one: office English, numbers, structured data entry, and continuous prose. Typing a column of invoice references is a different task from typing a paragraph, and a single score across both tells you less than two scores.
How the scores are calculated
Every figure is arithmetic you can check rather than a proprietary rating. One standard word is five characters. Gross WPM counts everything typed; net WPM subtracts uncorrected errors, which is why it is the lower number and the one worth quoting. Keystrokes per hour is correct characters per minute multiplied by sixty.

Where the practice text comes from
All prompts are written for this site. The office sentences, the numeric records and the story passages are original; none are extracts from published books. The data-entry records — names, invoice references, amounts — are fictional, so no real customer or personal data is ever displayed as practice material.
What is stored, and what never is
There is no user database, no public leaderboard, no profile system and no cloud result history. Completed scores can be saved privately in your own browser so you can compare progress over time, and that history never leaves the device.
Your typed text and the prompt are never part of that saved history, and they are never sent to us: the data a certificate purchase submits is a fixed list of score fields, and the server rejects a payload carrying anything else.
While you are reading your result, the full attempt — including what you typed — sits in your browser tab’s session storage, because that is how the result reaches the results page. Closing the tab discards it. The privacy policy sets out the detail, and my progress shows exactly what is kept.
What the certificate is, and what it is not
The optional ₹49 PDF is a formatted copy of a result calculated in your browser, with a QR code and a permanent verification link so a recipient can confirm the record was issued by TypingNova and matches what the PDF shows.
It is a practice result, not an examination credential. The test is not proctored, the holder’s identity is not independently verified, and no accreditation body stands behind it. We would rather say that plainly here than have an employer discover it afterwards. The certificate page covers what appears on it, and the refund policy covers the request window.
Who runs TypingNova, and how to reach us
TypingNova is built and operated by Mayur Kulkarni, based in India. It is independently run, and small in the literal sense: there is no company behind it, no investors and no editorial team. The same person writes the practice material, the explanations on these pages and the code underneath them.
That is worth stating on a site that charges for a credential. If a certificate is wrong, a payment fails or something here is simply inaccurate, there is a person answerable for it rather than a support queue. Questions, corrections and refund requests go to the contact page, which lists the support address and what to include so a request can be answered without a further round trip.
The site launched in 2026. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any other typing service with a similar name.
